Engineer to join the team. You will work closely with an internal
inter-disciplinary team, and outside partners to drive key aspects of product

The Role:
The Hardware Quality Assurance Engineer acts as a key partner
to the design team through ownership of the test and compliance function for
each new design and for each sustaining project at the Company. This ownership
includes, but is not limited to, maintaining and updating a hardware test plan,
and making timely recommendations that directly improve product designs based
upon a comprehensive understanding of previous test failures. Further this
individual acts as the Company’s expert on the IEEE 1725 process, providing
expert guidance to all cross-functional leads within Lab 126 as well as partners
and outside vendors.
As elements of your daily work, you will:
- Assemble and compile a hardware test plan from input
provided by an internal inter-disciplinary team.
- Drive the ODM and/or CM as appropriate to ensure all
hardware tests are performed on time for each design phase.
- Track and analyze hardware test results.
- Debug and find a root cause for each HW test failure
uncovered from the testing cycle.
- Report status to the hardware development team on all
hardware test results.
- Maintain and keep up to date all hardware test results by
working with the local test lab or ODM/CM.
- Assure that all IEEE 1725 requirements are met. Work with
functional leads and external partners or vendors to execute IEEE 1725
compliance. Attend IEEE 1725 meetings and advise the design team on all new
testing, documentation and submission requirements.
- Be conversant with regulatory and RF engineering test
requirements.
- Run hardware tests at the local test lab to confirm a new
electrical design, mechanical design, or re-design.
- Support the design and validation of all required changes
(continuous improvement, cost reduction, obsolescence).
- Plan and manage the roll-in of changes, and be sure to
track each change and associated test result of any change on the hardware
test plan.
- Work with and travel to ODM partners in Asia.
Required Experience:
- RF or wireless product design and test experience is required
- At least 5 years of design or Hardware Quality Assurance experience on
portable consumer electronic devices

other peripheral protocols and associated compliance testing requirements for
each.
- Knowledgeable with consumer product safety, compliance

CE regulations.
- Demonstrated expertise in numerous aspects of consumer
electronic design and modern production techniques.
